I vaguely remember seeing a program on Trenton and the crossing using actors with voice over of actual text.
I tend to dislike programs about events using lets pretend actors.
Some of our Maryland public television programs celebrating the War of 1812, our war, I found a bit uncomfortable. Some were too "lets pretend". Others did use the actual texts.
Nice costumes but how do we know what people thought or how they expressed themselves unless you use their actual words?
I remember watching the crossing program because it is an are of my particular interest.
I particularly remember that it was filmed on the spot and in the actual buildings. I recognized both exteriors and interiors.
What production was this?
