There were all sorts of high points and low points. For example, actor and director Clint Eastwood made some remarks that some view as amusing and others thought to be rambling, bizarre and distasteful. Perhaps I'm more forgiving because I hope people will tolerate my eccentricities when I turn 80.
Did anyone else catch Marco Rubio's screw up? I think he meant to say "we choose more freedom and less government" but instead he got the two concepts in the reverse order. I'll have to try and find a replay of it it double check if I got that right.
As for Mitt Romney's speech, it had some good lines in it, though I don't think it will go down in history as one of the more memorable speeches, like Ronald Reagan's or Bill Clinton's.
So permit me the obligatory poll for the last day of this convention. I managed to find a transcript of Mitt Romney's acceptance speech and have pulled a few remarks from it as part of the poll. The poll is behind this cut.
Did you watch Mitt Romney's acceptance speech last night?
From what you saw of it, what did you think of Romney's speech?
Which was the best line from the speech?
Did you watch Clint Eastwood's remarks and if so, which of these statements more closely resembles how you felt about them?
Who gave the best speech of the night in your opinion?
Do you think that this convention will help or hurt Mitt Romney's chances of winning the Presidential Election in November?
I'd love to hear your comments about what you thought about the speech, what you thought about Clint Eastwood and what you thought about the convention as a whole.
